More than 1,000 AI experts were surveyed by the Pew Research Center, and they named the following jobs as those likely to be greatly impacted by AI in the next 20 years:

Musicians:

As the industry perfects its models for mimicking voices, 35 percent of AI experts believe there will be fewer jobs for musicians within the next two decades.

Lawyers:

As AI becomes more logical and capable of handling legal reasoning, 38 percent of experts believe this will lead to fewer jobs for lawyers.

Software Engineers:

AI is improving rapidly in writing code. Half of the surveyed experts believe this advancement will reduce the demand for software engineers in the future.

Journalists:

Not surprisingly, 60 percent of AI experts in Pew’s study predict that the new technology will lead to fewer jobs for journalists — likely due to AI’s growing ability to write and report.

Factory Workers:

There could be a significant dip in the number of factory workers over the next 20 years as AI-driven automation becomes more widespread in manufacturing. This view is shared by 60 percent of the surveyed experts.

Truck Drivers:

Surprisingly, drivers are not spared in the looming job losses caused by AI. Sixty-two percent of experts believe AI will displace most truck drivers.

Cashiers:

Perhaps unsurprisingly, AI is expected to replace cashiers — not just in banking, but in retail shops too. A staggering 73 percent of AI experts hold this view.
